A larger tomato yield is dependent upon insect activity. As long as your plants are receiving all day sunshine, ample water and regular feeding, you can ensure the best yield possible by encouraging visits to your garden by pollinating insects. Try yellow flowering plants such as gloriosa daisy, yarrow, marigolds and coreopsis near your tomato plants.
