Then the leaves begin to get holes in them, and finally around the middle of July they look like they are made of lace. The blossoms are still healthy, but the rest of the plant looks awful. I cannot see any insects on the plants, but I know there must be something eating them. Should I spray them? If yes, with what and how often? I'd like to treat them as organically as possible, since I have many edible herbs planted around them. Thanks for your help. Kathy Howard |
BER, WHAT DO I DO HERE? WE AREN'T SUPPOSED TO RECOMMEND CHEMICALS. IS NEEM OK TO RECOMMEND TO GSC CLIENTS? THX, KD Sounds exactly like Japanese Beetle damage to me. I'm puzzled though, because first of all, you don't see them. They are usually pretty visible. Have you ever seen one? They are a bit bigger than a ladybug with irridescent green, bronze and black shells. Ever see one of those in your garden? Secondly, they usually eat the blossom too. Not always, but usually. |
