The Q&A Archives: Groundcover In Part Sun

Question: The area I am working with is half constantly shaded and the other half is in full sun during the morning hours. I will be planting Hostas on the shaded side, but not sure what would be a good choice for ground cover on the side that gets full morning sun.
Any suggestions you can offer would be appreciated.

Answer: Some groundcovers that grow well in part sun/afternoon shade include Vinca minor, Laurentia (blue star creeper), Sarcococca, Ribes viburnifolium (evergreen currant), Euonymus fortunei, Epimedium, Houttuynia cordata 'variegata', and Cerastium tomentosum (snow-in-summer.

Hope one of the above plants appeals to you!
