The Q&A Archives: Lifeless Clematis

Question: My new Burpee Dr. Rupple clematis was planted 2 days after receipt. It's still sitting in ground with NO sign of life or new growth after 2 weeks. Is this normal? My established clematis plants are growing beautifully and getting ready to bloom. Weather has been fine... no frost. What's the next step? Thanks! Bettie Hatem Summit, NJ

Answer: Since you are an experienced clematis grower, I'm sure you planted it correctly and are caring for it well. If the plant still shows no sign of sending up shoots after another two weeks, call the Burpee Customer Service line at 1-800-333-5808, and discuss getting a replacement or refund.
