My father plants his okra when the famers plant their cotton. He lives in Arkansas (zone 7). I live in Pennsylvania (also zone 7), is it safe for me to plant my okra at the same time?

Okra is sensitive to soil temperature at planting time, so that would be your better guide. The soil should be at a minimum between 60 and 65 degrees; a rule of thumb would make that about ten days after you transplant tomatoes outside, or two weeks after your last frost.
