The Q&A Archives: Brown Spots On Rhododenrons

Question: How can I tell when lace bugs are active?

Answer: Lace bugs usually lay their eggs along midribs and larger veins of the leaves. They hatch in May and the young insects begin to feed on the undersides of leaves. You can tell you have them by their excretions, large brown sticky spots. The upper side of the leaf will be marked with whitish specks.
