What do you do to make the holly grow big? I have transplanted them to more direct sun, is that okay? |
Hollies tend to grow best in an acid, rich, evenly moist yet well drained (meaning not soggy) soil. They will also do better if protected from wind, especially during the winter. In my experience they do better in full sun, although partial shade is also acceptable. Unfortunately, they are naturally very slow growing. Since you have transplanted them, treat them as you would newly planted hollies and be very careful to keep them mulched and watered, especially in the fall up until the ground freezes. |
