| The best way to keep it from germinating is to keep it very dry. I have some in a vertical "tube" feeder, and I haven't had problems with the seed germinating in the feeder. I suppose you could bake it to kill the seeds' embryos, but I'm afraid you might destroy some of the nutrients the birds depend on. |
