We have a large rhodedendron in front of our house which I would like to trim back. When would be the best time to do that? I live in Pennsylvania and the flower buds have already formed.

You can prune these now in early spring but you will be removing the flower buds, so you would probably prefer to wait and do it immediately after the plant blooms.
