The Q&A Archives: Best Varieties for Indoor Lavender

Question: What type of lavender, if any, would you reccommend for growing indoors in containers? Thank you. Bob Burkert St Louis, MO

Answer: Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) is available in these compact varieties: 'Hidcote' and 'Munstead' which would grow well in containers. Both are available through Bluestone Perennials, (800)852-5243, or Shepherd's Garden Seeds, (860) 482-3638. Growing indoors will require special lighting such as full spectrum grow lights, to keep the plants happy and non leggy.
