The Q&A Archives: Perennial Care of Digitalis x Mertonensis

Question: I have digitalis x mertonensis which is stated to be a perennial. My question is whether I must gather seeds after it blooms and dig it up, or whether it will continue to bloom for years without tending. Thanks. Cathy Peterson Goshen, IN

Answer: Digitalis x mertonensis (Strawberry Foxglove or Merton foxglove) is a perennial. Divide after flowering every two years to maintain plant vigor. Other than that, it will grow and flower for you every year. Enjoy this beauty!
