| Thes best times to transplant deciduous shrubs are very early spring as soon as the soil can be worked and early fall. Prepare the new planting area ahead of time and water the shrub the day before you dig it. Take as much of the root ball as possible and replant immediately at the same depth as it grew before. If a large number of roots are lost, trim back the branches to compensate. Water it well immediately and mulch with several inches of organic mulch. Water it carefully for at least the first year, just as you would any newly planted shrub. |
