There is a freeze warning for my area tonight. Should I cover my hosta and rhodadendron?

Hostas are susceptible to cold damge once the leaves have begun to show although the damage may not become evident until mid summer. So covering them is a good idea, even though a freeze would not kill them. The earliest blooming rhododendrons seem to be able to cope with the vagaries of spring, but there is no harm in covering them and it may keep the blooms from being ruined.
