Can I move my perennial dianthus in the spring after buds have formed?

I suggest that, if possible, you wait until after the plant has finished blooming. Then, you can trim it back and move it. Just be sure to keep it well watered this first season. I'm afraid that if you move it while it's in bud, you'll stress it and it may not flower as nicely.
