| There are many ways to answer your question, which is a complex one, but my first instinct is to verify what nutrients the plant in question needs, if any, and what properties the soil has, then work from there. You might have a distinct preference depending on the plant's needs or on what is easily available, or you might have a stated preference to use "only organic" materials in your garden; there is no clear cut answer. |
