| I purchased a small plant (4" pot) in my local supermarket last summer,and until now (late March) I have seen very little growth in the leaves.What can I do as far as pot size, sunlight, and food to encourage growth before transplanting outside? Note: I have kept the plant in indirect sunlight in my windowsill-perhaps it needed direct sun? |
| Jasmine is a relatively slow grower, and tends to put on most of its growth during spring and summer. You might move it into the next size pot and give it a water soluble fertilizer according to the label instructions. When it becomes crowded, move it up again but only a pot size at a time. The plants do well in partial or dappled shade outdoors and enjoy the humidity in summer. Be careful to acclimate it to the outdoors gradually and avoid leaving it outside on cold nights under about 50 degrees. Moderate to bright light is fine for this plant indoors during the winter. |
