Fast growing trees often produce weak wood, an important consideration if your area is frequented by high winds. Some of the more reliable yet reasonably fast growing screening type trees include Acacia, Pacific Wax Myrtle, Italian Buckthorn, Fruitless Mulberry, Sweet Olive, African Sumac, and Eucalyptus. Except for the mulberry, all are evergreen trees.
