DOES PORCUPINE GRASS AND WEEPING ALASKIN CEDAR GROW WELL IN SWAMPY SOILS? AND COULD YOU GIVE ME SOME OTHER TREES SHRUBS OR PERENNIALS THAT GROW WELL IN WET SWAMPY SOILS. |
Unfortunately, neither of those plants would be recommended for a wet or swampy location. Some plants you might consider instead would be red maple, willow, shrub dogwood, aronia, River birch, deciduous winterberry holly (Ilex verticillata) and evergreen inkberry holly (Ilex glabra); perennials might include Japanese iris, perennial hibiscus, beebalm, Joe Pye Weed, and yellow flag iris (Iris pseudacorus). On the edge of the wet area you might try the various types of Miscanthus, a larger ornamental grass, along with black-eyed Susans and daylilies (hemerocallis). |
