The Q&A Archives: Pest Eating Vegetable Leaves

Question: Something is eating at the leaves of my vegetables and herbs (peppers, artichoke, basil, tarragon). I've sprayed with Safer insecticide soap, but it's still happening. What could it be?

Answer: Safer's soap works only on those little soft-bodied creatures that it makes immediate contact with. Go out at night with a flashlight and look under the leaves and around the base of the plant. You may have slugs, cutworms, or weevils.
