| I have a small houseplant that produces a tiny white star shaped flower, smaller than dime size, that feels like velvet. Inside the flower is a spot of orange which is also in a star shape. On the underside of the white star is yet another orange star. About ten minutes after cutting the flower, it completly dissinegrates. There are two stem like protrusions from inside the flower with the feel of plastic. No one has ever seen this type plant before and therefore I do not know it's name. Can you help? |
| It's impossible to say for sure what you have. My first guess would be some type of hoya. These plants have waxy leaves and flowers. The star-shaped flowers are borne in clusters, and are sometimes multicolored as you describe. The flowers are usually quite fragrant, and the leaves are oval shaped, and they are commonly grown as houseplants. You might enjoy visiting Logee Greenhouses' web site (www.logees.com).
