Is there anything other than the use of bird netting to keep away large black crows from my garden?

Birds such as crows can certainly be a nuisance and there are many methods of attempting to keep them away. The traditional scarecrow is one, although in many cases it is not terribly effective. Other things to try are hanging shiny aluminum pie pans or CD's on string, stringing heavy fishing line above the rows to try to confuse their depth perception, using the scare-eye or owl figures to frighten them, and using a tape recorder or radio to frighten them with noise. Some gardeners also report that a pet cat or dog can be helpful in deterring them or chasing them away. The bird netting or erecting a large enclosure covered with wire mesh are additional alternatives. I'm sorry I don't have a magic solution for you.
