"Kwanzan" is a very popular named variety of Japanese Flowering Cherry, Prunus serrulata. It grows to approximately 35 feet high and wide, produces bright pink double blooms, and, according to Michael Dirr's "Manual of Woody Landscape Plants" is often relatively short lived. It is susceptible to a number of problems including canker and borers.
