The Q&A Archives: What Do The Ants On The Peonys Do?

Question: I have heard that the ants on peonies are good, but what exactly do they do?

Answer: Ants and peonies just seem to go together! The ants are eating sugary "exudate" from the buds. Rather than good, I think I would say they are basically harmless.
