The Q&A Archives: Liriope

Question: I planted lariopes last Fall. Do I need to trim them now?

Answer: I think you may be asking about liriope, a low growing plant with somewhat "grassy" shaped leaves. This plant does look better when the old faded foliage is trimmed away in the spring. The new growth will come in and cover over the old stubs. Be careful not to damage new growth tips when you trim.
