To Whom it May Concern,

I recently purchased a bag of Miracle-Gro combination flower seeding mixture (wild flowers). The directions specify that the mulch should be watered twice daily....there was a large amount of rain today, and will be all of this week. Will this negatively affect the growth of the flowers?

Seeds need a steady amount of moisture to germinate; ideally the soil would be moist like a wrung out sponge. If the seeds dry out, they will die. On the other hand, in cases of heavy rain, a very poorly drained soil may become so wet that the seeds rot. This would possibly be the case if there is standing water in the planting area. However, seeds are amazing things and often survive adverse conditions and go on to grow and thrive. Assuming your soil is average in terms of drainage, I would not expect there to be a problem.
