I am going to set out some flowering annuals and I was wondering if you could suggest some that are hardy and will do well in a border or pot that will get mostly sun with some shade.

Some easy, sturdy annuals for a location with sun and a little shade would be marigold, petunia, blue salvia, dusty miller, bedding begonia, and sweet alyssum. These will do well in pots or in the ground.
