I am getting ready to plant about 200 lbs of potatoes. Someone I work with recently said I should put baking soda on the potatoes after cutting them. I've never heard of this. I have heard of using sulfur, however, to prevent fungus. Do you know anything about this? |
I've never heard about dusting seed potatoes with baking soda so I can't advise you on this process. Usually, if you're purchasing certified disease-free seed potatoes, you don't need to treat the cut pieces other than to allow them to air dry prior to planting. Hope you have a terrific harvet of spuds! |
