The Q&A Archives: Planting Marigold Seeds

Question: How deep do I plant marigold seeds?

Answer: Marigold seeds should be just barely covered with soil. I sprinkle mine on the soil surface and then top them with just enough soil so I can no longer see the seeds. Water well and keep the seedbed moist until the seedlings sprout. Marigold seeds usually germinate in 4-14 days when the soil is warm (about 70F). Good luck with your seeds!
