The Q&A Archives: Wisteria Bean

Question: I inherited my grandmother's wisteria vine. I planted it at the end of a archway and this morning I discovered that it had an object hanging from one stem that looks exactly like a green bean and is fuzzy. Is that how they reproduce?

Answer: Yes, as a matter of fact you've found a seed pod! You can start new plants from the seeds, but seed started plants will take many, many years to produce flowers. By the way, these seed pods are popular for use in dried flower arrangements.
