We are hydroseeding for the first time. We live in a pine forest area. We removed the previous sod lawn (mostly dead) with a sod scraper. What should we do to prepare for hydroseeding? We are not sure as how to proceed from here. Help!

Preparation for hydroseeding is the same for any new lawn. If the soil is compacted, rototill or dig to loosen it, then rake smooth. Be sure to incorporate a slight slope to facilitate drainage. The hydroseeding process includes some organic matter, seed and fertilizer. Be sure keep the area moist until the seeds germinate. You'll probably be given a fact sheet for continued care of your new lawn from the company that provides the hydroseeding, and this fact sheet will include mowing, fertilizing and watering of your new lawn. Enjoy!
