Once I have grown my herbs in pots outdoors during the spring/summer, what do I need to do to keep them growing indoors during the winter months?

You may have success growing some types of herbs indoors if you have a very bright window; wash the plants thoroughly to remove any pests prior to bringing them indoors and trim them back lightly. Place them in the brightest location you have and reduce fertilizing and watering somewhat to accommodate the inevitably slower growth due to the reduced light level compared to outdoors. Harvest lightly as needed for fresh use. By spring you may find that they have become very leggy. Most can be cut back and repotted and then, after hardening off, returned to the outside.
