What varieties of peas and beans grow the tallest? I have a crop of 12 foot bamboo I can use for poles, so I can easily put as many tall poles in as I want. Can I grow more peas if I put fence up for bush varieties?

Bush varieties will remain smaller than pole varieties, whether or not you've provided support, so I'd stick with the pole-type plants. Kentucky Blue and Kentucky Wonder are my first choices for pole snap beans. Super Sugar Snap pea plants will reach 5'-6' in height, and Mr. Big will grow to about 4' high. Regularly harvest the beans and peas and the plants will continue to grow new vines and produce new flowers. All of the varieties mentioned can be purchased through Burpee's website at http://www.burpee.com, or by telephone (800) 888-1447.
