We have a bed in the front of our home and it gets very little sun in summer and none in the winter. We would like to plant some things that stay below the window and have color. What can you recommend?

Mostly shady conditions will suit pansies, lobelia, impatiens, hosta, senecio, lamium, clivia, calceolaria and bleeding heart. Be sure to amend the soil with organic matter prior to planting to help it hold moisture - most shade loving plants appreciate rich, moist soil.
