I just planted a sundial mix and some petunias. Some type of bug is eating my petunias and the sundial mix has not yet sprouted. My lawn gets direct sunlight about half of the day. I am looking for types of colorful flowers that grow easily in the California heat without direct sunlight. |
In partly shady areas you'll have great success with a number of plants, including Campanula, Calceolaria, Clivia, Impatiens, Tradescantia, Senecio, Asiatic Lily, Caladium, Cyclamen and Hellebore. Your new plants will appreciate a garden bed well amended with organic matter (to help hold in soil moisture). |
