| I have a benjamina that I have had for almost 10 years. This plant never gets taller or bushier, it reamains the same. I keep it in a North window, but have tried other locations, tried repotting and giving it new soil, I fertilize occassionaly, give it regular waterings, and the plant is still about 3 ft. tall with green leaves, but never gets bushier. My brother took a cutting off this plant about 5 years ago and his tree grew beautifully, lush, green foliage and much taller than mine, him and I follow the same guidelines for care, but my plant just sits. |
| How disappointing! Ficus benjamina thrives in rich, moist soil, frequent feedings and abundant light. Try providing more light, watering often enough to keep the soil moist (but not soggy), and feeding every 3-4 weeks with a half-strength dilution of liquid fertilizer. After a few months of this treatment your ficus should produce new stems and foliage. |
