Every year we get these awful black sucking bugs on our nasturtiums. It usually kills them off. Is there anything I can do to prebvent this?

Nasturtiums seem to be magnets for black bean aphids. I suspect that's what's attacking your plants. You can hose the critters off, or use an insecticidal soap to kill them off. You'll have to treat regularly to keep the insects at bay. Hope your plants recover soon!
