I am looking for a perennial ground cover to grow in between the flagstones on a pathway on the shady side of my house.

There are a number of low-growing plants that will look great between the flagstones on your pathway. Soleirolia (Baby's Tears) is a first choice, followed by Sagina subulata (Irish Moss and Scotch Moss). A slightly higher growing plant (but not high enough to trip you) is Viola (the old fashioned creeping violet). Hope one of these suggestions is just what you're looking for! Be sure to water the plants well all season to help them become established.
