| I tried starting marigold seeds indoors, but they did not grow. I've done this in the past,w ith very good results. I noticed, however, the seed packet was dated 1999. Could this make a difference? |
| The date on the seed package indicates the seeds were harvested and packed for the 1999 season. If the seeds were stored in a cool, dark, dry place, the viability should remain high. If the seeds were subjected to excessive heat, cold, or high humidity, their ability to sprout would have been compromised. Another consideration is that the germination problem might have been related to insufficient soil moisture, or having the seeds planted too deeply. Try again with a fresh batch of seeds and I'll bet you have better success! |
