I have a garden thats somewhat raised by rr ties. It has been home for egg plants and tomatoes and peppers. Over the course of time a large TREE has grown and I have very little sun in morn and some in afternoon. what vegateable would you recommend for this type of garden condition?? |
Unfortunately and as you have already guessed, most of the popular veggies need full sun or at least six hours of sun including the hour of noon to do well. Some to try in a shadier area would include onions, leafy greens such as spinach, chard, and lettuce as well as root vegetables such as beets and carrots. Peas and green beans will tolerate some shade, as will many herbs: parsley, chives, garlic, dill, cilantro, and basil come to mind. Cherry tomatoes might also produce, albeit more lightly, if you are craving tomatoes. |
