| This is my first time planting bush green beans. Since I would like to feed my family of four and can some beans for winter use I was wondering what one bush bean plant would yeild? |
| Since yield can vary from one plant to another, it is usually calculated by groups of plants, as in yield per ten feet of row or per 4X4 foot area as one would have in a raised bed. An average for bush beans would be 20 pounds for the ten foot row and 30 pounds for the 4x4. Your results may vary however, depending on the season, your soil and so on. Another estimation is to say "grow this many plants per person"; for bush beans, that number is in the 20 to 40 plants range, but I don't find that as helpful as the pounds estimate. |
