Zinnias do best in a full sun location with average garden soil with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5. As with any other annual flowering plant, they will do better in soil that has been amended with ample organic matter to help it hold both moisture and air and provides sufficient nutrients for growth and flowering. Maintaining a steadily, lightly moist but not soggy soil will also help them perform at their best. I hope this answers your question.
