The Q&A Archives: When To Cut Back Bulb Greenery

Question: How soon after bulbs bloom can I cut the greenery and plant annuals in their place?

Answer: With all bulb-type plants, allow the foliage to yellow and die back naturally. This is essential as the foliage is storing nutrients to the bulb for next year's growth. You can still plant annuals amongst them as this is occuring.
