Have you had any experience with using these water filled tubes to plant tomatoes 30 to 60 days before last frost date?

I've used them about 30 days before, but not 60. They protected the plants and helped get a jumpstart on the season. Sunlight warms the water in the cyclinders and the heat is released during the night. I would think that if the plant is actively growing, it would outgrow the size of the Wall 'O Water in about 4 weeks or so, and would require another form of protection from frost.
