How can I get my bush sweet peas to have longer stems? The ones I grow are so short I can't put them into vases.

Bush sweet peas are bred to remain smaller than their vining counterparts. Short stems go along with this smaller size. There's really nothing you can do to make the short stems longer. Next year plant the regular vining type of sweet peas and they'll produce longer stems, giving you plenty of blooms on 7"-9" long stems.
