Magnolia acuminata is hardy in zones 3-8, as is Magnolia salicifolia, M. soulangiana (saucer magnolia)and M. stellata (star magnolia). Magnolia virginiana (also called laurel or Swamp Magnolia) is borderline in your region, but might be worth a try.
