We were hoping to plant one fruit tree in our yard but I have read that for many trees you need more than one to have cross pollination in order to bear fruit. I have only come across a couple "self fruiting" trees - one being the Stella cherry. Can you suggest any self fruiting trees that may grow well in my area? Thank you.

Stella, Lapins and Sweetheart are self-fruitful cherry varieties; Redhaven, Reliance and Madison are self-fruitful peaches; and Stanley, Greengage and Superior plums are self-fruitful. Some nurseries carry "fruit cocktail" trees (with grafted cherry, plum and peaches all one tree) for those with limited growing areas.
