Why after my pink broom bloomed so well its first year has it died or turned all dry and brown and what should I do? I have a yellow brow also with some of the brown but it seems as though it is going to bloom on all the green branches. |
Older growth on Cytisus naturally tends to lose that bright green coloration and turn brown, and older plants tend to die out or die back in sections. The dead parts should be trimmed away and the new growth will tend to fill in the gap. Unfortunately, these plants are not usually all that long lived. To give them the best chance, make sure they are in a sheltered spot with lean soil and excellent drainage. |
