| I live in northern California just outside San Francisco and want to plant flowers to attract hummingbirds and bees. The flowers will be in the sun until late afternoon. What should I plant? |
| Hummingbirds like the flowers on cotoneaster, fuchsia, butterfly bush, bleeding heart, trumpet vine, climbing nasturtium, morning glory, penstemon and delphinium (among others). Bees are attracted to most any flower, especially if there's an abundance and they're fragrant! Plant lots of color in your garden, and try to have something in bloom from spring through autumn. Bees and hummingbirds will find it hard to resist such an interesting garden! |
