This sounds like the unseasonably hot weather taking its toll during the shipping and delivery process. I would begin by removing the discolored leaves and then set the plants in a location with good air circulation and gentle morning sunshine. Water enough to keep the soil evenly moist but not soaking wet. You should see new healthy new tip growth shortly. If the plants are in truly poor condition you might wish to contact Burpee customer service directly at 800-333-5808.
