I am planting several types of squash and melons, will there be a problem with cross polination? We will be planting your Giant pumpkins, acorn squash, cantaluopes, gourds and watermelon. The garden is about 75 X 75. There will be other vegetables included also...Is there any way avoid the crossing? A few years ago, I planted squash and melons very close together and got squashamelon...tasty , but weird...HELP!!! Thank you

They will indeed cross-pollinate, but this is only a
problem if you intend to harvest seed to plant next year. It
won't effect the outcome of the current year's fruits. Follow
the spacing guidelines as printed on the seed packets. These
guidelines are based on giving vines adequate space to
spread and draw nutrients and moisture from the soil. Enjoy
your summer fruits!
